Slide Bagpipe

I was in the Metropolitan Museum of Art musical instrument room staring at the Bagpipes when I had a thought.  "Those poor Bagpipe players can't articulate a note."  If they let up the pressure with their arm then the strong sound dies in a slow whimper.  I figured out how to create a bagpipe that you can articulate, and in the process created a wind instrument where one can use the mouth as a resonating chamber.  I moved the pipe to the floor and added a foot pump in order to free up the arms for changing the slide.

Thanks to David Franklin for shooting the MPEG.
